A friend of mine has said that Beale Street is a great place to check out. My girlfriend and I would like to take a road trip there and are not sure when the best time would be? Obviously, the Music Festival looks good, but unfortantly won’t be able to go then. What other times are popular? Thanks.

Spring and Summer. Any weekend it should be jumping pretty good.
However, be very very careful where you park your car. While the actual street is fairly well policed, the areas around Beale are very susceptible to car break-ins and numerous ones happen each night.
Also , anyone that has ever watched The First 48 on TV will know that Memphis can be an extremely dangerous city. Be alert at all times. If you can legally pack a firearm, do so.
