“Overall I think that my knowledge from The University of Memphis, my work values, my skills, and my abilities are all a contribution to the hospitality industry,” wrote Aubrey Gillespie in her application for the 2005 HSMAI Memphis Scholarship. The HSMAI Memphis Board of Directors agreed and Aubrey, a hospitality student at University of Memphis, was awarded the 00 scholarship on May 11 at Wyndham Garden Hotel.

Aubrey has worked since the age of 15 in hospitality and marketing, and is pursuing a degree in Hospitality and Resort Management at the University of Memphis. Her drive, ambition and commitment to excellence showed in her winning essay and HSMAI Memphis is proud to support her in her efforts. Aubrey is a shining example of the future of hospitality sales and marketing and we welcome her to our industry.

HSMAI Memphis awards an annual scholarship to a local undergraduate planning to earn a degree in a field related to hospitality management. The amount of the annual award varies, depending on scholarship funds raised throughout the year.
